It’s February already. How is it February already? The shiny New Year energy has softened into routines, calendars are filling up again, and everyone’s figuring out what’s actually worth committing to. 💕 While resolutions are being quietly re-negotiated (100 daily situps was not viable 🤦), we’re sticking with something more dependable: useful updates, thoughtful new features, and developer tools designed to make building on Slack a little easier to love.
So take a moment, show your workflow or app a little love, and see what February’s been busy rolling out. 💜

Dear Slackbot
Hey Slackbot — how can you help me out? Check out this guide that shows how to get the most out of Slackbot for everyday work. You’ll find practical prompt examples for things like getting up to speed on a codebase, figuring out who the right subject matter experts are, staying on top of unread notifications, and keeping track of commitments. By adding the right context to your prompts, you can use Slackbot to work faster, stay organized, and tap into your team’s shared knowledge.

Streamlining Security Investigations with Agents
Slack’s Security Engineering team built an AI-agent system to automate security investigations. Instead of one big prompt, they use multiple specialized agents (director, experts, critic) that collaborate, verify findings, and reduce hallucinations. The system scales investigations, surfaces hidden risks (like exposed credentials), and shifts humans from manual digging to supervising AI investigations.
Fresh features to start the year 🚀
- Custom Connectors for Enterprise Search
We’re excited to announce Custom Connectors for Enterprise Search are now generally available! Starting today, you can build custom integrations that bring data from your proprietary systems, internal tools, and on-prem applications directly into Slack Enterprise Search. These supplement the native connectors currently provided within Enterprise Search and unlock several new use cases. Check out the documentation. - Shared Channel Sections Links/Forwarding
You can now forward channel sections and share channel sections via links! All you have to do is right click your customized channel section and hover on “Share channels” and you should see the new “Copy section link”. You can also see forwarding and copy link capabilities directly on the channel section card once it is shared. Paste the link in a channel, canvas or forward to any DM or MPDM! - ICYMI: Slackbot was released early this year
Slackbot has evolved into a powerful, context-aware AI agent that lives inside Slack and helps you get work done by understanding your messages, files, channels, and tools you already use. It can instantly answer questions, synthesize information, draft content in your voice, and surface insights without leaving Slack, saving time on catching up and searching. Built with enterprise-grade security and strict data permissions, Slackbot only sees what you already have access to, making it both useful and trustworthy. Found out how to start using Slackbot here.
